Guide to Authors

Journal of Shenyang University of Technology is a comprehensive academic journal in natural science and engineering technology that sponsored by Shenyang University of Technology and published both home and abroad. The journal aims to promote the development of science and technology, cultivate scientific and technological talents, enhance the level of scientific research and teaching, accelerate the translation of research achievements into production, and serve the modernization construction of our country. The main columns include electrical engineering, wind power technology, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, information science and engineering, control engineering, architectural engineering and chemical engineering. This journal mainly publishes academic papers that are innovative, scientific, and advanced, and are related to the above-mentioned content. In order to bring this journal in line with international level, to better facilitate exchanges with journals from all over the world, and to improve the quality of the journal and the academic level of our university, the following rules are established in accordance with national standards and in combination with the actual situation of this journal.

1.     Requirements

(1)   The manuscript should be sent to editorial office through our website. For the first submission, please first complete the “Author Registration.” Submissions can only be made after the registration is completed.

(2)   The manuscript should be written according to the "Paper Template". The recommended length is 5~6 pages.

(3)   The manuscript should have high academic level and strong innovativeness, with certain application and reference value. It is recommended to include a literature review section, summarizing and refining the main viewpoints of the cited researches, rather than simply listing articles. The content of the manuscript should have clear arguments, reliable evidence, rational structure, clear structure, smooth sentences, and concise wording.

(4)   The manuscript should be written according to the order as title, authors and units, abstract, keywords, Chinese Library Classification Code, English parts (from title to keywords), main body text and references. The manuscript's first page should include the following information in the footer: date of receipt, funding project, and author profile.

(5)   The title should be descriptive and concise, reflecting the key content of the article, within 20 Chinese characters. Avoid using words like “research” or “introduction” in title.

(6)   The author's affiliation should be written in full name, including the secondary unit (for universities, it should be specific to college, department, or research institute), and the location and postal code should be provided.

(7)   The abstract should be a concise summary of objective, methods, results and conclusion, preferably with 200~300 Chinese characters. Avoid using the first-person perspective or “this paper” in abstract.

(8)   Keywords should be selected from words or terms that can express the main content of the article, and it is recommended to have more than eight keywords.

(9)   The Chinese Library Classification Code should be selected from the "Chinese Library Classification" (4th Edition). The document is accessible in the Download Center of this website.

(10)  The terms and units should be normalized and standardized. The quantities and units involved in main body text and figures must be in accordance with national regulations.

(11)  Figures should have proper and reasonable structures, with appropriate sizes. The text, symbols, and data in figures must be accurate and concise. For line charts, the curves should be clear, and the horizontal and vertical coordinates should be labeled with the corresponding quantities and units.

(12)  Tables should have proper structure and accurate data, designed in three-line style.

(13)  The conclusion part should be an accurate, complete and concise summary of the article.

(14)  Each manuscript should cite at least 20 references published within the last three years, which must be from formally published journals, books, conference proceedings, etc. Unpublished literature should not be cited. References should be arranged in the order they appear in the text, and the corresponding sequence numbers should be indicated in the main text. Each reference entry should be complete. For references with multiple authors, only the first three authors should be listed, followed by “et al.”. All non-English references must be translated into English and placed below the original reference (for the specific reference format, please refer to the “Paper Template” of this journal). Please double check the information of references. If two or more discrepancies are found, the manuscript will be rejected.

(15)  All submissions must include a biography for the first author and academic supervisors. The biography should include the following information: the author's name, year of birth, gender, ethnicity (Han Chinese may be omitted), place of origin (province, city, or county), professional title (position), degree, and research direction

(16)  The manuscript sponsored by a funding project should state the project’s title and number.


2.     Things to Note

(1)   This journal, in principle, only accepts original manuscripts. Papers that have been presented or published at domestic or international conferences will not be accepted.

(2)   The journal strictly enforces national regulations on copyright law, patent law, confidentiality law, and other relevant laws. Authors are solely responsible for the content of their manuscripts. Any use or reference to others' research results must be cited properly in the references. Plagiarism and copying are strictly prohibited.

(3)   Authors are requested not to submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. If an author has not received any response from the editorial office within three months after receiving the submission receipt, they may submit the manuscript to another journal whereas they must inform the editorial office of this journal.

(4)   The Editorial Board and Editorial Office of this journal have the right to review the manuscripts and decide whether to publish them. They also have the right to make textual modifications to the manuscripts.

(5)   Authors should ensure that they have legitimate copyright ownership of their works. This journal will not assume any liability arising from copyright disputes of the authors. Submitting a manuscript to this journal implies agreeing with the transfer of the article’s copyright. Unless otherwise stated, it will be assumed that the authors agree that the article be indexed by abstract journals and abstract databases.

(6)    When an article is accepted, we will charge fees to the authors, and will also issue a formal invoice. For fee details, please refer to Publication Statement.

(7)   Once an article is published, this journal will pay the authors a one-off remuneration and will also post two copies of the current issue to the authors. If the journal publishes the author's article in any other format, no additional remuneration will be paid to the authors.
